Wound Protection

Ongoing education and follow-up care will be provided to ensure that your wound or infection doesn’t come back. The Advanced Wound Care Center at St. Joseph Medical Center offers a full continuum of care that ensures patients enjoy lifelong results.

If the wound you’re suffering from is related to diabetes, then your specialist may refer you to one of the diabetes education and nutrition courses offered by a registered dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator at The Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology at St. Joseph Medical Center. The lab work completed during your first visit with us will help determine whether or not you could have diabetes.

Because many chronic, slow-, and non-healing wounds are a result of long-term tobacco use, we offer smoking cessation programs as a part of our services. To learn more about our nutrition program, smoking cessation program, and other education services, please call the Advanced Wound Care Center a t713.356.7820.
